Location – Detroit
The Shop Goodwill Associate will work in all areas of E-Commerce performing all Shopgoodwill.com functions that include photographing, listing, packaging and shipping selected donated items. This position is responsible for thoroughly examining each item to determine the correct condition and other pertinent criteria, taking detailed, clear and appropriate product photographs and writing concise and accurate product descriptions to list items on the online platform in a manner that will maximize sales and profit margins.
EDUCATION-High school graduate or GED required.
EXPERIENCE-At least one year of clerical or administrative support experience is preferred. Working knowledge of graphics and e-commerce software and previous e-commerce experience are desirable.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES-Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of the Internet and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to type 40 wpm. In-depth working knowledge of digital camera equipment and photography. Knowledge of collectibles and/or antiques along with knowledge of research resources and engines to identify product information is helpful. Ability to write creatively, communicate effectively and possess good basic reading and mathematical skills for completion of transactions and documentation. Must exhibit professional demeanor at all times, be highly organized, detail oriented, energetic, team oriented with a positive “can-do” attitude and a strong commitment to outstanding customer service.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS-While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hands, talk or hear; occasional reaching with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by the job include color vision. The employee must often lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. May be required to sit and stand and use a keyboard or scanner for up to 8 hours at a time. This position occasionally may require twisting and bending.
